Change.

Only change is permanent.

Meeting people in life who want to change you, to accept you doesn't make sense to me. Wanting to change this or that in me, so that I'm acceptable to you, is the worst in people that comes out with time.

All those who can't accept me for who or how I am today, surely don't deserve me with any kind of change, 'cause the changed me would still be temporary, so tomorrow, when I'd change again, I will stop being acceptable to you.

Be it family, I've got to remember that those who don't accept me for who I am today, aren't worth being with. No matter when. They're like temporary influences that keep passing by.
I'd rather be alone that with people who are looking forward to change me, to draw their peace of acceptance.

  1. I totally agree, people have to love you for you are today and look forward who you will be tomorrow...

People need to stop looking to change other people and only worry about themselves... that is the only person they can or should want to change :-/

  2. Living a life just to please others is a false life and leads to a lot of sorrow and resentment. However there is something to the concept that "if you want honey, don't kick over the beehive". Helping others understand why you do what and why you do is a process. Not always successful either.

  4. i never really understood the theory behind wanting to change a person. we are continuously growing, that's what keeps life exciting and interesting. and i agree with launna, people need to focus more on themselves than others.

  5. Me too! I completely get what you're saying. Just be you, yourself and only you, it's all we can do!

  6. One of my favorite sayings is, "If you can't handle me at my worst, you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best." Good for you for not changing for anyone. Be and love yourself.

  7. First of all, why should one change themselves for the sake of others?
And as you have mentioned, even after changing ourselves, that change might also be not good for them.

Be yourself. Enjoy and cherish the way you are. :)
    Others' opinions really doesn't/shouldn't matter.

  8. Such a valuable lesson to cling to. Friends who can't love us for who we are from the get-go are not really friends, just as friends who can't celebrate the newness in you, change for the better or for the adventure, aren't really friendly either. We journey and grow together and should be accepting of people in all stages.

  9. you know why do we have to see a mirror?
because we cant see ourselves...without the reflection from a mirror..or of those who know us, meet us; our friends, family and everyone else of the society we survive in.

there are things that we know about ourselves but others dont and some things about which we ourselves are unaware of! we cant claim to be complete or knowing all about how we are! thats just not being human...

    here comes the change!
we got to change if change is necessary, if its what we ourselves cant see within us!
therefore we must always look for reasons behind a demand for change.....if its benefiting us, then whats wrong in it??

U have written superbly on a topic tht is just too important!

  13. Very true. Its okay to change a bit. I mean for good. But to keep changing because of some people, Its not healthy at all. What I believe is that most people just invent a character. Its like they want you to be this good that good and then they try to impose it. But its okay people are like that. :)

  14. The only person who needs to accept you is your own self. Any one else does not matter. :D

  15. Amen to that. And yet I know that I want to change everyone around me. Why is that?

  16. Amen to that. If you can find at least a couple of people in your life who doesnt want to change you and let you be , then you're made ! :)

  17. I guess I shouldn't accept myself then, because I'm constantly pushing myself to change. :P

  18. agree.. people need to accept you for who you are, and if you do need to change for the better then its because you yourself want t make that change and not because somebody made you change

  19. I've tried penning down various write-ups with the theme: The only constant in our lives is change.

But, this aspect of the theme is one I had not discovered. Nicely written! :)
